UDDINGSTON born singer Brenda Cochrane is set to play to Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall tonight (Friday).
The world famous entertainer will be treating fans to snippets from her new album 'Back Home' - which hosts a collection of Brenda's favourite childhood songs as well as many traditional and celtic songs. Songs featured on her new album include, Caledonia, My Ain Folk, and Will Ye Go Lassie Go.
Brenda, known as 'The Voice' will also be bring her immensely popular one-woman show 'Just for Joe' to the Kings Theatre this April.
The show, dedicated to her father Joe came as a result after his death when Brenda returned to Scotland to take stock. Written and devised by herself and comedian Elaine C Smith, the show is based backstage as Brenda prepares for a performance.
'Just for Joe' features Brenda singing, telling fascinating anecdotes and the people who have influenced her throughout her career, such as her beloved father, Joe.
Fledging a career in entertainment from the age of 12, Brenda started working the Glasgow Club Circuit and two years later, opened for the legendary Marty Robbins at the Glasgow Apollo.
In 1989, the Uddingston girl won television show 'An Opportunity Knocks' with the largest ever recorded vote. Since then Brenda has appeared on stages around the world and continues to wow audiences with her exceptional voice and fantastic shows.
