Watch out for next big thing Jeye T

By Carla Callaghan

A MOTHERWELL singer/songwriter is fast becoming the next indie legend with a hot new ep and host of celebrity fans.

Jeye T (John Tierney) caught the attention of music mogul, Alan McGee who liked his music so much that he put the Lanarkshire lad's tunes on his IPod.

And after a hectic but successful year, the sensational singer/songwriter has just released his first debut ep 'Logical Fallacy' - which has proved to be insanely popular.

Influenced by Oasis, Jeye T counts them as his favourite band, so he was delighted when ex-Oasis guitarist Bonehead agreed to play guitar for him at the ep launch. The singer now counts the guitarist, (who also appeared in one of his videos) as one of his friends .

The past few months have been a rollercoaster for Jeye T, who has recorded material with legendary producer Paul Tipler, who produced material for Scots rockers Idlewild and indie gods, The Charlatans. Playing live at five of Alan McGee's Death Disco nights in London has built up a fanbase for the singer South of the border and he hopes that he can increase his fanbase in Scotland aswell. The talented Scot is also in the process of forming a backing band, so he can perform gigs with a full line-up as a pose to just acoustic.

On his friendship with the former Creation Records boss, Jeye T said: "im still very much in touch with alan mcgee and speak to him regularly and can now call him a good friend, whenever i record a new demo he is first to hear it,he is a great mentor and has introduced me to many influential people in the music industry.

Speaking about future plans, Jeye T added: "I am also writing new material for the next record. I'm not chasing a record deal right now as I believe the right record deal will find me - That's how much I believe in my songs."
