You cannae beat it!

By Perthshire Advertiser

SCOTTISH legends the Proclaimers said they were faced with a massive dilemma after their hit showing at T in the Park – do they watch the Arctic Monkeys or the World Cup Final?

Twins Charlie and Craig Reid had just entertained a delighted Kinross crowd with their sing-along set – including Hogmanay anthem ‘500 Miles’ – but were faced with a massive headache afterwards.

Singer Craig told the PA: “I want to see the Strokes, the Arctic Monkeys and the Who – or I can find a telly to watch the World Cup final?.

“I cannae find a TV with the game on here and apparently there isn’t one on site so it’s a bit of a problem. A big dilemma!”

This was the brothers’ third appearance at T and they received the same warm welcome they are accustom to.

“We got a very warm reception, just as we have every other time we’ve played T in the Park. You cannae beat it,” exclaimed Charlie.

“This festival is so convenient for people in Scotland to get to and even if the weather is a bit iffy, people just get over it and enjoy the music.

“At other festivals you get the feeling that some people are there just to be seen, but here it’s all about the bands.”
