INFAMOUS Berlin DJ and music label owner, Shir Khan is set to bring the house down at this Saturday's SPECTRUM.
Hotter than a week in the Maldives, Spectrum is becoming a massively popular club night and get-together for the cream of Glasgow's cool kids.
AND playing host to the fantastic DJ Shir Khan is one not to be missed. Opening the night will be the fantastic resident DJ MotorPyscho who will be setting the pace of the night with some excellent mixes.
Flying over from Berlin, Jan Simon Spielberger aka Shir Khan can't wait to get behind the decks. Owner of music label, Exploited, his newly released compilation cd is on sale at Urban Outfitters.
The Berlinner is Head of electro's most consistently genre-redefining labels: Exploited and produces material for Adam Sky, Siriusmo, Lorenz Rhode, Mowgli, Zoo Brazil and more. An accomplished DJ and remixer, Shir Khan also hosts club nights in his hometown and presents a weekly radio show on Radio Fritz.
The German is an immense talent with some of the freshed, beats, mixes and tunes - and has played alongside LCD sound system, Erol Alkan, Radioclit, Whomadewho, The Juan MacLean, Peaches and many many others.
Speaking to ICScotland, he revealed some of what we can expect at Saturday's SPECTRUM.
He said: Lots of bumping house, lots of tropical mayhem, some acid here, some techno there, a bit of UK Funky and Dubstep and of course always tunes you just wouldnt expect. No stranger to Scotland, Shir Khan has gained a massive Scottish following, he said : "Its my 3rd time (in Glasgow).
Glasgow has treated me very well so far - People went nuts on my first apperance at the Killer Kitsch Night.
"I have played for them already 2 times and will play a 3rd time on Sunday in Edinburgh at Cabaret Voltaire."
The music label owner, and DJ also gives ICScotland his own review of the EXPLOIT compilation, He describes it as: "A kind of a collection of the best moments on Exploited - but there is also a lot of exclusive material on it. 1 CD mixed, the other DJ-friendly and unmixed.....Its a wildly eclectic and joyously funky mix with a thousand ideas per minute: Mr Skruff-style trouser jazz, gruff ragga chat, wobbly monster basslines, tabla-and-flute excursions, P-Funk-esque Disco, Spaced-out spangly Synths, Oldschool Ravy Techno....and the descriptions could go on and on."
