GUS MacPHERSON can't wait for Craig Dargo to be fit - so he won't have to put up with the striker's constant moaning. Dargo has yet to play a competitive match for St Mirren after picking up a hamstring injury pre-season following his summer move from Inverness. And the 29-year-old is unlikely to make his debut soon as medics have said rest is the only cure for Dargo's problem. Boss MacPherson said: "When you bring in a proven goalscorer and can't get him on the park it's frustrating. "Craig was desperate to make an impression when he first came here and that's what caused the long-term problem because he tried to play through it. "Everyone connected with St Mirren is frustrated but no one more than Craig. "I wouldn't like to be our physio listening to him moaning. He's certainly been moaning to me, so I hate to think what the physio gets." Saints face Gretna at Love Street tomorrow and MacPherson said: "It's an important game as it's a chance to put a bigger gap between us and them. "It's an opportunity for the players to go and perform, to be brave and want the ball." |
