LYON president Jean-Michel Aulas last night called for French football to take a leaf out of Rangers'book. The Ibrox side successfully had their SPL match against Gretna postponed last weekend ahead of their Champions League clash with Alain Perrin's men. Aulas said: "We had a handicap compared to Rangers because we had to play our game against Caen at the weekend. "The French League have to think about that in the future - they have to think about not playing ahead of these big games." Aulas admitted reaching the last 16 had been a tough task. He said: "This qualification has been the most difficult for Lyon since I have been president. But Iam happy because of the rewards." On the defeat of Rangers he added: "I don't know if this game was the most beautiful but it gave me a lot of pleasure." |
