STAMP victim Kim Kallstrom insists he feels sympathy for red-carded Jean-Claude Darcheville. The frustrated Rangers star was sent off near the end of Wednesday's Champions League defeat against Lyon, not long after missing a terrific chance that could have taken Walter Smith's men into the last 16. Swede Kallstrom said: "I suppose it wasn't a nice thing to do but it's football and emotions run high. There was a little stamp but for me there's no problem. "I've been there as well, all footballers have experienced those emotions. He missed an open goal when we were up 1-0 and that could have changed things. I feel sorry for him. "But it was our night and we felt confident after that. There was lots of pressure from Rangers and their fans but we handled it well. "Rangers are a strong team and the crowd is truly great. It was the first time I'd played in Glasgow and the match had one of the greatest atmospheres I have ever experienced." |
