Scottish Cup Special... Partick Th V Livingston Tonight, Firhill, 7.45

LIVINGSTON skipper Dave McKay insists the prospect of facing Rangers or Hibs in the next round is added incentive to dump Partick Thistle out the Scottish Cup tonight.

A last eight tie is up for grabs and McKay believes the Almondvale side are good enough to go through in the replay.

He was left frustrated by the 0-0 draw in the first match but is convinced they can triumph this time.

McKay said: "We probably should have won at our place even though we did not create many chances. I felt we were the better team.

"If we play as well as we can we are more than capable of beating them. It's a huge incentive for Livi to get through with the winners taking on Rangers or Hibs.

"It's a great opportunity for the players to face teams like that and the club to make a decent amount of money out of the cup."

McKay believes his side must be wary of Thistle despite their weekend defeat by Stirling Albion.

He said: "It's difficult to say how they will react. They can either have their heads down and feel sorry for themselves or forget about it and concentrate on the cup.

"But I'm sure they won't have a hangover from Saturday."
