KILMARNOCK are set to extend keeper Damien Rascle's stay at Rugby Park until the end of the season.
The French shot-stopper was signed on a short-term deal until the end of next month as back-up to Alan Combe and Chad Harpur after impressing in a trial at their pre-season Italian base.
Killie boss Jim Jefferies is prepared to allow young keeper Cammy Bell go out on loan once he has fully recovered from his cruciate injury.
But Jeff needs to have two goalies as cover for Combe and is keen to secure former Toulouse ace Rascle, left.
Jefferies said: "Damien is another who has impressed us after we signed him. It is not easy to get a keeper to come in and be third choice.
"Chad did it and got himself up to No.2 and Damien has to challenge for that. He has the attributes and we would have no hesitation in putting him in as we have confidence in him.
"He was delighted to get the chance to come to Scotland and is settled here.
"Now we can give him a little bit of piece of mind by extending his deal until the end of the season and see how it goes."
Jefferies will also have to decide whether to extend Moroccan international Mehdi Taouil's short-term deal.
