Brew Challenge For Drug Shame Hart

Nov 9 2007

By Ian Orr, Daily Record

CRAIG BREWSTER has challenged Richie Hart to put his drugs conviction behind him and re-establish himself as a key member of the Inverness squad.

The midfield player had his club-imposed suspension lifted this week and has returned to training.

Hart, 29, was fined £300 at Inverness Sheriff Court last month after having been found in possession of cocaine at the Rock Ness music festival in June.

The player's only first-team appearance this season was as a substitute in the defeat by Rangers on August 4.

A foot injury kept him on the sidelines before the suspension but last night boss Brewster said: "I am delighted to have him back training and now he has to get back to concentrating on working day-in, day-out in training and trying to force his way back into the team.

"But I do have a host of midfield players so it won't be easy."

Player-boss Brewster is currently out of action with a shoulder injury and the team have missed his presence on the pitch.

They face Motherwell at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday, with Brewster resigned to watching from the bench again.

The 40-year-old manager and striker could face several months out of action if he requires major surgery.

Brewster added: "I have a scope on the 22nd of this month to check the extent of the shoulder damage and then it will be up to me to decide what is to happen after that."
