HEARTS will pay tribute to players who lost their lives in the First World War when they face Aberdeen this Remembrance Sunday.

Names of seven men from Hearts' 1914-15 squad who died - John Allan, James Boyd, Duncan Currie, Ernest Ellis, Thomas Gracie, James Speedie and Harry Wattie - will be embroidered on the current players' shirts and there will also be a poppy on the chest.

A Hearts spokesman said: "This is one small way of ensuring their sacrifice is remembered."

After the game, the strips will be framed and then auctioned at Hearts events with all proceeds going to McCrae's Battalion Trust.
