GRETNA boss Davie Irons insists criticism of his side's flop against Inverness at the weekend will fire up his players.
Irons has collected dozens of newspaper cuttings since Saturday's 4-0 defeat and intends using them to motivate his team ahead of Saturday's crunch clash with Falkirk.
The boss was stunned by the doom merchants and wants to see them choke on their words.
Irons said: "I have a load of press cuttings, especially from the weekend.
"Some of the stuff said about our team by so-called experts in unbelievable.
"You hope it doesn't affect the players and I'll certainly be trying to use the cuttings to fire them up.
"I'm getting fed up by some of the comments written but if I can use them to our advantage, then I will."
The Borders club have a make-or-break clash against Falkirk this weekend and Irons is full of praise for the work John Hughes has done to stabilise the Bairns in the SPL.
He said: "He has done an excellent job. But if you look at the likes of Falkirk, St Mirren and Inverness they have shown that it is possible to get promoted and stay in the top flight.
"But the advantage they had is that they had the infrastructure and also players who had played at this level before.
"Maybe we have fallen short in that area but the players are a honest group of guys and hopefully we'll turn the corner."
