DEAN HOLDEN is convinced Falkirk have put their poor spell behind them and are ready to climb the SPL table. The Bairns currently sit second bottom after a string of bad results but back-to-back draws against strong Kilmarnock and Aberdeen teams has convinced the defender his side are starting to rediscover the kind of form which helped them to seventh spot last season. And now John Hughes' men hope a win on Saturday against bottom club Gretna, a side the Bairns beat 4-0 on the opening day of the season, will complete their transformation. Holden, right, said: "Things looked promising with the big win against Gretna on day one but then we took batterings from the Old Firm. "The heads just went down a little after that and we took a while to get going again. But the good thing is the spirit never left us and we work as hard as ever in training and in the gym. "That will always pay off eventually and I think we're now looking up the table again rather than over our shoulders. "Saturday is a massive game for us because of the chance to open up a real gap on Gretna. We're at home and it's maybe fair to say they're getting us on the up while we're meeting them at what looks a difficult time for them." |
