Caldo Would Love To Land Scots Job

Nov 29 2007

By Chris Roberts, Daily Record

Scotland: A New Era...

JIMMY CALDERWOOD last night put himself in the frame to succeed Alex McLeish as national boss after claiming the job would be the crowning glory of any Scottish manager's career The Aberdeen chief's early odds were 14-1 to get the post but he is in good company with Billy Davies, Jim Jefferies, Graeme Souness, Craig Levein, and Mark McGhee all also high on the list.

Calderwood said: "For any Scottish manager it has to be the pinnacle of his career to become national manager."

"And thanks to the job done by Walter Smith and Alex McLeish, and the draw last Sunday, the team have a wonderful chance of progressing to the World Cup finals in 2010 in South Africa."
