Green to make students statement

15:05, Sep 3 2012

Immigration Minister Damian Green will be forced to explain a decision which has left 2,000 foreign students in limbo.

The Government revoked London Metropolitan University's highly-trusted status (HTS) for sponsoring international students last week.

Overseas students at the institution have been given three months to find an alternative course or make arrangements to leave the UK.

Commons Speaker John Bercow granted Labour's Jeremy Corbyn an urgent question on the issue as MPs returned to Westminster following the summer recess.
