Dozens die in Pakistan bombings

19:05, Jan 10 2013

Two bombs have exploded minutes apart at a billiards hall in south-west Pakistan, killing at least 52 people.

The attack in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province, also wounded more than 100 people, said police.

Pakistan's SAMAA TV channel said one of its cameramen was killed by the second bomb after he rushed to the scene to cover the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Earlier a bomb targeting paramilitary soldiers killed 12 people in Quetta, while five suspected militants died in a US drone strike in the country's north-west, officials said.

Baluchistan has experienced a decades-long insurgency by nationalists who demand greater autonomy and a larger share of the province's natural resources.

It is also home to many Islamist militants, including the Taliban.
