Details of murder suicide awaited

04:05, Feb 6 2010

Relatives of a couple and their daughter believed to have died in a shocking murder-suicide are waiting to find out the circumstances of their deaths.

The bodies of Susan McFall, 56, and 18-year-old Francesca, known as Frankie, were found at their family home in Hampton Road, Oswestry, Shropshire.

Husband and father Hugh McFall, 48, was found dead a few hours later at an industrial lock-up he rented in nearby St Martins.

It is believed the flower salesman killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life. West Mercia Police called the deaths a "family tragedy" and said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with their inquiry.

The trio have yet to be formally identified and post-mortem examinations are expected to take place this weekend to establish the cause of death.

Detective Superintendent Sheila Thornes, leading the investigation, said: "I can confirm that although a number of witnesses are still to be seen, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation.

"Although formal identification is not likely to take place until early next week, we believe the three people are those whose names have been released."

Frankie was studying A-levels in the 6th form at Oswestry School, an independent school close to the family home.

Mrs McFall is believed to have worked part-time as a cashier in a local bank while her husband is thought to have run a business selling flowers to local supermarkets, using the lock-up in St Martins.

Mrs McFall had another daughter and a son from a previous marriage.
