Fire hits Harry Potter set

21:05, Mar 21 2010

Filming of the latest Harry Potter movie has been hit by a fire which broke out on the set.

The blaze at Leavesden Studios in Watford, Hertfordshire, took hold of an outdoor set for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Friday night.

It took more than half an hour for firefighters to put out the "reasonably big" fire, said Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.27pm. The side of the set had caught fire. The damage to the side that caught fire was fairly extensive."

There were no casualties and the blaze was said to be accidental.

The forthcoming film about the boy wizard is the first half of the final movie in the series.
