Meerkats at Edinburgh Zoo have been enjoying Halloween, with their enclosure kitted out as a zombie graveyard.
Keepers buried meal worms and insects inside carved pumpkins and cardboard tombstones for the clan to find.
The zoo's 11 meerkats ventured out to investigate the themed treats, which they quickly tore apart to find the food.
Michael Livingstone, carnivore keeper at the zoo, said: "Halloween is a great time for us as we're constantly thinking of new ways to add to and enrich the lives of all our animals here. So we really enjoy getting into the Halloween swing of things.
"This is the first Halloween for our mob of meerkats, so we came up with a zombie graveyard theme for them to explore. As their food is hidden in the pumpkins and tombstones, they'll have to work to get their food.
"The clan need to forage and problem-solve, which are natural skills and behaviours they would use in the wild when it came to hunting for food."
Meerkats, members of the mongoose family, are native to the open plains and savannahs of southern Africa. They dig for their food - such as beetles, moths and scorpions - with their powerful claws.
