Woman killed in car collision named

A 79-year-old pedestrian who died after a collision with a car has been named by police.

Lillian Morrison, from Aberdeen, died as a result of her injuries after the incident which took place at 4.10pm on Thursday.

A black Vauxhall Corsa was involved in the collision at Queens Road, near its junction with Groats Road, in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police would like to speak to the driver of a small, white vehicle, possibly a Ford Fiesta, who was travelling west on Queen's Road before the collision. Officers believe this driver may have information to help the inquiry.

Also in the Grampian Police area, a 75-year-old man has died after his car left the A941 near Elgin at 10.20am on Thursday.

The incident took place near Glassgreen Farm and as a result the Peugeot car ended up in a field.

The road was closed for four hours and the driver was taken to the Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin where he subsequently died, police said.
