A large fire at a warehouse in Paisley which forced residents from their homes was started deliberately, police have said.
Around 30 firefighters were called in to deal with the blaze in Clark Street and a 200m cordon was put in place when it emerged potentially explosive gas canisters were situated nearby.
The cordon closed roads and the main railway line serving Paisley Gilmour Street.
While no-one was in the property at the time, local residents living opposite the building were moved from their homes as a precaution. They have now returned.
A joint investigation, involving Strathclyde Police and Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service is under way to trace whoever is responsible.
Detective Inspector Julie Henry said: "We are in the process of gathering CCTV images which we hope will provide further detail to assist in our investigation.
"Thankfully, no-one has been injured but it's imperative we trace whoever is responsible for setting this fire.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of this morning or anyone who has any knowledge about the incident to contact us."
