Walker found dead was local guide

A walker whose body was found two days after he went missing on the Isle of Skye has been named as a mountain guide from the area.

Graham Paterson, 60, of Carbost, was last seen on Thursday afternoon, when he was spotted falling at Glenbrittle in the Cuillin Hills.

A major search involving police, the RAF and mountain rescue teams was launched for the hillwalker, who was believed to have been injured.

His body was found at around 11am on Saturday.

Northern Constabulary, who released his name today, said a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
