University meeting held over sit-in

Hundreds of students have attended a meeting with a university principal to discuss attempts to end a student occupation which led to the deployment of dozens of police officers.

About 500 students and staff met with University of Glasgow principal Anton Muscatelli and other members of university management.

On Tuesday, protesters were removed following a seven-week sit-in at the university's Hetherington Club amid the heavy police presence. The students resumed their sit-in on Wednesday.
