Teenager killed in road accident

A teenager has been killed in a crash in the Highlands.

The 17-year-old was a passenger in a silver Citroen which crashed on the B862 Whitebridge to Fort Augustus road near the Suidhe Viewpoint on Saturday, Northern Constabulary said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash shortly after 10pm.

A police statement said: "A 17-year-old male passenger sustained fatal injuries.

"The driver was conveyed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance and is in a stable condition."

The road was closed to allow for an investigation.
