Student awaits terror verdict

A student dubbed Scotland's first Islamist terrorist will learn on Tuesday if his conviction will be formally overturned after judges said he suffered a miscarriage of justice.

Three senior judges last month said they were "minded" to quash Mohammed Atif Siddique's most serious conviction.

They found that the judge at the 2007 trial, Lord Carloway, misdirected jurors in relation to aspects surrounding the Terrorism Act 2000.
