SNP's booze price plans criticised

Whisky industry leaders will on Tuesday criticise the SNP's plans to set minimum alcohol prices.

Gavin Hewitt, chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association, is expected to argue that the proposal is based on "flawed" research and may create trade barriers.

He will be appearing before MSPs investigating the financial aspect of the Scottish Government's Alcohol Bill, which is going through Parliament.
