Six hurt in soccer fans' bus crash

Six people have been taken to hospital after a motorway crash involving a Hearts supporters' bus and a lorry, police said.

The accident happened on the eastbound M8, at junction six Newhouse, shortly after 4am.

Strathclyde Police said an HGV collided with the supporters' bus as it was returning from Hearts' Europa League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

The six people taken to hospital all had minor injuries, officers said. Three were taken to Monklands Hospital and three to Wishaw General Hospital.

There were no serious injuries as a result of the crash.

The incident partially blocked the road for around two hours, but the motorway is now clear.
