Power line health fears 'ignored'

Energy Minister Jim Mather is being asked to explain the health advice he considered before approving a controversial 137-mile power line.

Health concerns surrounding the Beauly-Denny line have been "almost totally ignored", MSPs on Holyrood`s Petitions Committee were told.

Central Scotland MSP Dr Richard Simpson said the line, which travels through some of Scotland`s most scenic countryside, will pass Stirling in his constituency.
