£250,000 of cannabis plants found

A cannabis cultivation worth around £250,000 has been discovered in a warehouse.

The landlord of the property in Torrisdale Street, Govanhill, Glasgow, alerted police when he found it while checking the warehouse on Saturday afternoon.

Strathclyde Police are now trying to trace the people who rented the property.

"The estimated street value of the cannabis cultivation is approximately £250,000," a police spokesman said.

"Inquiries are ongoing to identify the persons who rented the warehouse, and officers at Govan CID are appealing to the public for information that may assist with their inquiries."

Anyone with information can call police on 0141 532 5400 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
