Police seek pair who stabbed man

Police are hunting two men who stabbed another man in an early morning attack.

The 38-year-old was walking with two friends on a bridge near Tesco in Dalmarnock Road, Rutherglen, at around 5.50am on Friday when he was attacked from behind.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with wounds to his hand and buttock and has since been released. His friends were not injured.

Strathclyde Police said the attackers were wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Emma McLaughlin said: "CCTV pictures show a few cars on both sides of the bridge at around the time of the attack.

"I'd appeal to anyone who saw what happened or anyone with information to contact the CID at Rutherglen police office on 0141 532 5200. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111."
