Police name Hogmanay death man

 

A man who died following a disturbance on Hogmanay has been named by police.

Ryan Sherry, 21, was attacked in Petershill Road in the Springburn area of Glasgow at around 10.30pm on Monday.

Mr Sherry, from Springburn, was taken to the city's Royal Infirmary where he died.

He may have been involved in a disturbance involving other people and was chased from a nearby close, said Strathclyde Police.

Officers are conducting a murder inquiry and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
