Police name hillwalker death victim

 

A 74-year-old hillwalker whose body was recovered by rescuers has been named.

Strathclyde Police named the man as Alexander Sproule from the Edinburgh area.

Mr Sproule was reported missing at about 9.30pm on Saturday after he became separated from his group on Ben Cruachen in Argyll.

Rescue teams and a helicopter crew scoured the 1126m-high (3,694ft) Munro near Loch Awe before finding his body on Sunday morning.
