Pedestrian dies after collision

 

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car.

The man was walking in Irvine Road, Crosshouse, East Ayrshire, around 8.50pm on Friday when the accident happened. He died at the scene, Strathclyde Police said.

No further details will be issued until the man's family have been informed.

The driver of the car stopped and helped police with their enquiries and officers are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 01563 505 000.

Meanwhile, a man is in a serious condition in hospital after crashing in Aberdeen.

The one-vehicle crash happened in Wellington Road around 4.45am on Saturday morning. The driver was taken to the city's Royal Infirmary where his injuries are described as serious.

The road was closed while officers investigated the scene.
