A 20-year-old nursery worker has been arrested and charged in connection with the possession of indecent images of children.
The man from Dundee was detained by Tayside Police last Tuesday.
Officers have been examining computer equipment as part of their inquiry.
The force acknowledged the concern in the community generated by the alleged offence.
A spokeswoman said: "Tayside Police, and the education and social work departments of the three local authority areas in the region, as well as care providers, are working closely to ensure that the appropriate information and support is in place for any families and children closest to these allegations."
