Another road crash victim was taken to Raigmore after being cut from a car following a two-vehicle collision on the A862 in Beauly on Tuesday night.
Northern Constabulary have warned drivers to drive with extra care due to thick fog in parts of the area.
A force spokesman urged motorists to drive "at an appropriate speed for the level of visibility" and to dip headlights in fog, as mist can magnify the lights and cause a glare for oncoming traffic.
