Motorbike passenger dies in crash

A motorbike passenger has died after a road collision involving two cars.

The accident happened on the A83 at Strone Point, near Inverary in Argyll, at about 4pm on Saturday.

A 44-year-old woman died when the motorcycle collided with two cars travelling north, firstly a Fiat Punto and then an Audi A3.

The 51-year-old motorbike driver was taken to Mid Argyll hospital in Lochgilphead, where he is in a stable condition. The two car drivers were not injured, Strathclyde Police said.

Constable Graham Neilson appealed for information from witnesses.

He said: "From our inquiries we know that there were at least two other vehicles on the road when the crash happened - another motorcycle and a car.

"I am keen to speak to the driver and occupants of both as they may have seen something that will help us with our inquiries.

"Anyone with information can contact the road policing complex on 0141 532 6400."
