Man arrested over phone robberies

A man has been arrested in connection with three robberies alleged to have taken place on the same day.

Two of the incidents on the evening of Tuesday December 11 last year are said to have happened in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, in the town's North Road and Main Street.

The final incident is said to have taken place in Motherwell's Carfin Road.

Each time, a man was allegedly robbed of his mobile phone.

Strathclyde Police said a 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incidents.

He is being held in police custody and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
