Long-lost cat reunited with owner

A pet owner has been reunited with her long-lost cat after six years.

Tara the cat lived at Debbie Mclean's Highland home until the age of three when she suddenly disappeared.

When her family moved from Conon Bridge to Mulbuie last year, they believed they had seen the last of Tara.

As renovations were being made to her old house, the mother-of-three paid a visit to the familiar address.

There, she was surprised and delighted to recognise the missing cat.

Mrs Mclean, 29, told the Press and Journal: "I just told my sister-in-law to stop the car because I had spotted Tara.

"I called her name and she came running towards me and was rubbing herself against my leg.

"It was weird - she seemed to remember her name and wasn't scared or anything.

"To see her after so long was definitely a shock to the system. I still can't believe it."

Mrs Mclean has since posted a message on a local Cats Protection website in the hope of finding out who has been taking care of Tara for the last six years.
