A derelict torpedo testing range is to be transformed into a holiday resort.
The site in Arrochar, Argyll and Bute will boast a five-star hotel, dozens of apartments and a 250-berth marina on Loch Long.
The £70 million development will create more than 300 jobs and is expected to inject £9.8 million a year into the local economy, according to Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority which approved the plans.
The Ben Arthur Resort will be sited at the former torpedo testing facility at the head of Loch Long, which was decommissioned in 1980.
Authority convener Linda McKay said: "We have worked hard through our planning strategy to attract the right investment for the area and have actively led discussions on suitable tourism opportunities with potential investors.
"By approving the Ben Arthur Resort, we have firmly established our commitment to promoting sustainable economic growth based on our stunning landscapes ensuring benefits for our communities and I look forward to seeing this development get under way later this year."
Work on the resort is due to start in February or March.
