GP practices to be examined

The future of GP practices will be set out by medical chiefs on Tuesday.

It comes amid "rocketing" demand on ambulance staff and accident and emergency wards for out-of-hours care - and political pressure for change in the way doctors provide this.

Dr Dean Marshall, the head of the British Medical Association's Scottish GPs committee, will unveil a report into GP practices.
