Ex-Big Brother star denies sex act

Former Big Brother contestant Jason Cowan has denied carrying out a sex act on a woman while she slept.

Cowan, from Glasgow and who was runner-up in the 2004 series of the reality show, entered a not guilty plea to the offence at the High Court in the city.

The ex-body builder, 38, is accused of "penetrating" the woman when she was "incapable of giving or withholding consent" at an address on Drimsynie Estate in Lochgoilhead, Argyll, on December 11 last year.

Cowan, who appeared in court wearing a dark suit and white shirt, will go on trial on January 9.

The television contestant came second on Big Brother to Portuguese transsexual Nadia Almada.
