Driver left scene of fatal crash

Police are looking for the driver of a car which crashed, killing the front-seat passenger.

The 34-year-old died when the silver Vauxhall Signum left the road and hit a tree in West Lothian at about 7.45pm on Tuesday, Lothian and Borders Police said.

The driver left the vehicle at the scene at the B7015 Sheephousehill Road, Fauldhouse before emergency services arrived.

Sergeant Gary Taylor said: "We are appealing for any witnesses to the accident or anyone who saw the car prior to 7.45pm to contact us. We believe the vehicle had been heading westwards at the time.

"We are also keen to speak to the driver of the car who left the scene prior to the arrival of the emergency services."

No other vehicle was involved in the collision at the edge of the village near Breichwater Place, police said.
