Almost £2 million has been allocated to help make public transport more accessible in two cities.
Two projects in Glasgow and one in Dundee have received grants from the European Regional Development Fund.
It is hoped they will boost economic, social and environmental regeneration in the urban areas by providing safer, more welcoming spaces for people to use.
The announcement was made by Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who is also the Infrastructure, Investment and Cities Secretary.
A £1.2 million grant has been awarded to Strathclyde Partnership for Transport's (SPT) Revitalising Subway Stations project, which will be used to make improvements to security, accessibility and environment at Govan, Ibrox, Cessnock and Bridge Street subway stations on the southside of Glasgow.
Costing £6 million in total, the project aims to modernise interchange facilities for passengers transferring between various modes of transport, as well as introduce a smartcard ticketing infrastructure.
SPT chair George Redmond said: "This programme will put the Govan, Ibrox, Cessnock and Bridge Street stations at the heart of communities they service. In Govan, the new hub will play a vital role in establishing a public transport link for people travelling to the new South Glasgow hospital."
In the east end of the city, £419,000 of funding has been awarded to Clyde Gateway Urban Regeneration Company's Sustainable Transport project, which will be used to help connect local people with training and employment opportunities. Improvements will include new and upgraded shelters with improved lighting and CCTV, upgraded pedestrian crossings and improvements to cycle parking at railway stations.
A transport hub will be created in the Lochee area of Dundee, allowing greater access to jobs and training opportunities in the city centre and elsewhere. Dundee City Council received a £180,000 grant to develop the Lochee Integrated Transport Hub.
