Cannabis charges pair face court

Two men have appeared in court in connection with a haul of cannabis recovered by police worth almost half a million pounds.

Nam Van Tran, 28, and Dong Van Vu, 41, were charged with drugs offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act when they appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

They also faced a further allegation under the Electricity Act.

The pair, of no fixed abode, gave no plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination. They were both remanded in custody.

Police discovered a stash of cannabis worth about £475,000 at an address in Caledonia Street in the Gorbals area of Glasgow on Monday.
