Boy 'critical' after Perth crash

 

A young boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being knocked down by a car.

The seven-year-old was hit by a silver vehicle in Strathtay Road, Perth, at about 3.30pm on Monday.

He was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary.

Tayside Police closed the road to allow a crash investigation and scene examination to take place.

Inspector Julie Robertson said: "The boy was conveyed to hospital, where his condition is described as critical."

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the force on 0300 111 2222.
