Bid to identify man found dead

 

Police efforts are continuing to identify a man whose body was found in a field.

The body was discovered at Carnell Estate, near Mauchline, Ayrshire, at around 10.30am on Friday.

Officers have been carrying out a forensic examination of the scene, near the A76 road, and are currently treating the death as "unexplained".

The man has not yet been identified and police are working to find out his name.

A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "Inquiries are continuing following the discovery of a man's body.

"A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

"The death is being treated as unexplained at this moment."
