The Princess Royal has marked the 40th anniversary of a wildlife park by feeding the UK's only two polar bears.
Anne unveiled a commemorative plaque and toured Highland Wildlife Park near Inverness, meeting a pack of three-month-old European grey wolves alongside polar bears Arktos and Walker.
The park is run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, of which Anne has been patron since 2009.
She last visited the park in 2010 when she opened Wolf Wood, a 2,000m enclosure that houses grey wolves Elara and Puika and their quintuplet pups who were born in May.
The society is "delighted and honoured" to welcome Anne, said chief executive Chris West.
"The official visit was a chance for the Princess Royal to visit many of the endangered animal species that can be found at Highland Wildlife Park. Particularly, it was truly a delight to introduce two very special animal residents of the park to the Princess Royal, Walker and Arktos, the two young male polar bears who share a large five-acre enclosure together.
"As well as helping to feed these two impressive bears, the princess also had the opportunity to hear more about the important ongoing conservation, research and education work the society is undertaking."
Arktos and Walker have been living together since April when Arktos arrived from Hanover Zoo in Germany.
Keepers at the park described the pair's relationship as a "bear bromance". They are often seen wrestling, swimming, sleeping and eating together.
Earlier this year Anne visited Edinburgh Zoo to see giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang. She helped feed male Yang Guang and told staff she was impressed with how close visitors can get to the animals.
