Two months before the wedding...

Send out the invitations with details of how to reach the venues. Include any additional information, such as a 'tick box' for vegetarians and for those who'd like to make use of provided transport and details of your wedding list or other gifts. Think about those travelling from afar and their accommodation.

Collate the replies and divide into piles of 'yes', 'no' and 'maybe'.

Ensure that your room is booked at the hotel (if appropriate) and that the hotel allocates rooms aside for guests who may also wish to stay there.

Book your transport to the service venue and reception venue and any additional transport that you may have provided for guests.

Make a list of gifts and who they're from as they arrive and write thank you notes/cards.

Buy presents for anyone of the wedding party whom you may want to thank.

Think about your hair and make-up arrangements for the day and book a 'practice run' at the hairdressers for you and your bridesmaids (if appropriate) a week before the day and for the day.
