The traditional bouquets of flowers dotted around the reception and table centres add a nice fresh touch to the proceedings, but a modern alternative is balloon decorations long lasting, cost-effective and stunning.
Table centrepieces made from balloons are called topiary trees, and can be customised to reflect the theme and colour scheme of the wedding. Helium filled ballons are arranged with details such as ribbons, lace, glitter or confetti, and tied to adecorative weight. They form a pretty addition to the table, and are tidier than flowers which can shed pollen and petals.
An archway of balloons can form a grand entranceway to the reception, or provide a backdrop for photographs. Simple designs and colour schemes work best, and some stunning effects can be achieved.
A modern tradition has evolved where balloons are a feature at weddings. It involves one large transparent balloon filled with an assortment of smaller balloons, glitter, steamers and confetti. Guests gather round to watch the bride pop the balloon, and witness a sparkly display as the contents scatters. This is a nice touch, and an entertaining interlude, ideal for later in the proceedings.
