Travel show returns to SECC

Scotlands only Holiday & Travel Show returns to Glasgow in February 2009.  The show, scheduled to take place at Glasgows SECC from the 13th 15th February, presents a fantastic opportunity to grab a holiday bargain, meet tour operators face to face to discuss holiday ideas - as well as being a great day out for the family.

The show, now celebrating its 11th consecutive year, is packed with exciting and interactive exhibitions from tour operators and travel agents, tourist information organisations and places of special interest.  In addition, there will be family entertainment from Marco the Clown, face painting and sand pits to play in providing a great day out for the whole family.

A flavour of what is on offer from the 80 countries represented includes:

Scotlands largest tour operator, Barrhead Travel, will be at the show to answer questions as well as offering fantastic discounts on a range of holidays to those attending the show

Experience first hand what it is like to cruise Fred Olsen will have their executive chef on hand to give cookery demonstrations and a flavour of some of the food prepared on board as well as a number of other delicious temptations

If looking for something a little more off the beaten path, representatives from Malawi Tourism will be answering questions and showing why their corner of Africa is a gem waiting to be discovered

The hidden wonders of Turkey and North Cyprus will be represented by CTA Holidays who will be showing visitors some of the hidden delights the region has to offer.

For those looking for the romance of rail, Treyn Holidays will be showcasing a range of European train holidays to suit every taste and budget

As well as being a one stop exhibition for all holiday and travel needs, a number of exhibitors will be offering credit crunching holiday deals or free prize competitions.  For example Anatolian Sky Holidays are offering two weeks to the beautiful North Cyprus and Turkey for the price of one - it could be the opportunity to bag a bargain and visit a once in a lifetime destination.

Visitors wanting to get a better understanding of what a country has to offer culturally will find the new Travel Temptations Zone invaluable.  On display will be a wealth of cultural, musical and culinary delights from the various regions or countries, giving visitors a fantastic opportunity to experience hands-on the different cultures through music, singing and dancing, art and craft displays as well as food and wine tasting.

If, after all this, visitors are still unsure about their next holiday destination, the Travel Talk Theatre will have travel and holiday experts giving insights into specific regions and resorts, as well as travel tips that can prove invaluable when away from home.

John Fish, managing director, of the Holiday & Travel Shows, comments: "We are really excited about this years show as it is jam-packed full of different holiday offers and options, as well as having experts on hand to answers questions.  The show is a great day out for the family and I believe a real opportunity to grab a fantastic holiday bargain."
